本研究主要目的係透過功能評量探討自閉症兒童問題行為的功能,並分析其前事刺激與行為結果之關係。
本研究共觀察學前至國中階段自閉症學生53名,共收集818筆行為樣本。
主要結果如下:
八類問題行為中,前事刺激所具功能相當一致,以希望獲得他人注意、快感、做某事、獲得某樣東西及逃避被要求做某事為主。
但不服從、自傷二類行為較少具獲得他人注意的功能;固執、怪異、自傷三類行為,尚同時具有獲得快感及減輕焦慮的功能。
八類問題行為中,行為結果所具功能亦相當一致,除不服從行為以能獲得想做的事及休息以外,其他七類行為,以獲得他人注意、快感、焦慮的減輕、避免被要求學習及做某事為主。
整體而言,自閉症兒童的問題行為功能相當多樣。
本研究所使用的功能檢核表之信度,以觀察者問信度為主,分別為錄影帶組.88,自然情境觀察組.92,.85。

Thepurposesofthisstudyweretoanalyzethefunctionsofproblembehaviorsexhibitedbystudentswithautismandtoidentifythefunctionsmaintainingproblembehaviors.Atotalof818behaviorsamplingsfrom53studentswithautismwereobservedforanalyzingthefunction.
Themainfindingswereasfollows:
1.Intheeightcategoriesofproblembehaviors,themainfunctionsofproblembehaviorsmaintainedbyantecedentstimuliweresimilar.Attentionseeking,automaticreinforcement,tangiblereinforcementanddemandavoidancewerethefourmainfunctions.Noncomplianceandself-injuringfunctionedlessfrequentlytoseekattention.Ritualisticbehavior,oddbehaviorandself-injuringalsoservedasfunctionsofautomaticreinforcementandanxietyavoidance.
2.Intheeightcategoriesofproblembehaviors,themainfunctionsofproblembehaviorsmaintainedbyconsequencestimuliweresimilar.Exceptthenoncompliancewhichwasmaintainedbydoingthethingshewantedandseekingrest,thesevenotherscategoriesofproblembehaviorsservedasfunctionsofattentionseeking,automaticreinforcement,anxietyavoidance,anddemandavoidance.Thefunctionofproblembehaviorsshowedbystudentswithautismwaswidevariety.
3.Theinter-observer(includeVideotapedobservationandnaturalisticobservation)reliabilityofBehaviorassessmentchecklistwhichdevelopedbyresearcherwere.88to.92.
