Dhikrcanalsotakeamoredistinctformsuchastasbeeh,whichisextollingAllah.Thisisusuallydonebycountingonthefingersoronprayerbeads(calledsibhah)andrepeatingphrasessuchas“SubhanAllah”(AllahisSublime),“Al-Hamdulillah”(allpraisetoAllah)and“AllahuAkbar”(AllahisGreatest)thirty-threetimeseach.ThentheMuslimsays,“LaailahaillaAllah.Wahdhu.LaShirikalahu.Lahual-mulk,walahual-hamd,wahua‘alakullishay’inqadeer.”(ThereisnogodbutAllah.HeisOne.Hehasnopartner.ToHimisthedominionandallpraise,andHehaspoweroverallthings.) OtherformulasfoundintheSunnahoftheProphetcanalsobeusedindhikraswell.Whentheseformulasarerepeatedwiththelipsandalsofeltintheheart,theyareatypeofmeditationthatputstheMuslimintouchwithhisLord,strengthenshim,andrelieveshimofstress.
