GivingdawahtoaMuslim,isimportant,anditistoremindthemtoworshipAllah,encouragingoneanotherisaformofdawah. WhatisDawah? Dawahinvolvestwoparties,theonewhoinvitesandthetheonewholistens.WhengivingdawahitisimportantitpolitelyandwiththegreatestofmannersaspeoplearejudgingyourcharacterandbehaviourasaMuslim. “InvitetothewayofyourLordwithwisdomandgoodinstruction,andarguewiththeminawaythatisbest.Indeed,yourLordismostknowingofwhohasstrayedfromHisway,andHeismostknowingofwhois[rightly]guided.” Quran16:125 Therearemanytypesofdawah: SocialMedia Facetoface–thisshouldalwayscontinue,asitismorepersona,andshouldbetheprimarymeansofdawah. RadioStations TV Dawahisconsideredasaformofworship,sometimeswhenwewanttotakeupdawahwemaythinktoourselvesthatwearen’tknowledgeable,however,dawahhasbeenmadeeasybytheProphet ﷺinthehadith. Narrated`Abdullahbin`Amr: TheProphetﷺsaid,“Convey(myteachings)tothepeopleevenifitwereasinglesentence,andtellothersthestoriesofBaniIsrael(whichhavebeentaughttoyou),foritisnotsinfultodoso.Andwhoevertellsalieonmeintentionally,willsurelytakehisplaceinthe(Hell)Fire.” Al-Bukhari. PeoplearemoreinterestedinseeingIslamthanhearingaboutit.Therearethreeformsofdawah: Behaviourinpublicandprivate. DealingswithbothMuslimsandnon-Muslimsinbusiness,etc. Respecttowardsotherpeople,howyoutreatthem.  Asimpletypeofdawahisnotblockingtheneighbourofthemosque/musallahdrivewaywhenattendingTaraweehprayerorJummahprayer Furthermore,youneedtobepatientwhencallingpeopletoAllah,asitcantakealongtimetoguidepeopleandyourself.Somepeoplemayignoreandberudetowardsyou,butbybeingpatient,relyinginAllahandtreatingthemwiththecorrectmanners,youareperformingatypeofdawah. ExamplesthatwecanlearnfromwhengivingdawahisProphetNuh,andhowhecalledpeopletothedeenofAllahfor950years.AnotherexampleisOmaribnAl-Khattab,itwassaidthathisfather’sdonkeywouldbecomeMuslimbeforehedid.ButthroughthewillofAllahOmarbecameonetheCaliphstoguideIslamafterthedeathoftheProphet ﷺandisoneofthetenpromisedJannah.  Remembertoalwaysbepatientandrelyonallahwhengivingdawahevenifitisn’tsayingsomethingyouractions,characterandbehaviourareformsofdawahwhichcanberewarded.
