Inthecontextofworkpsychology,jobsatisfactionisthegeneralattitudeofthepersontowardhisorherjobanddependsonseveralpsychosocialfactors.Therearealsootherconceptsthatrefertojobsatisfactionasasynonymofmotivationorasapositiveemotionalstate.Someconsidersatisfactionanddissatisfactionasdistinct,opposingphenomena.Itisimportanttounderstandthatinfluencesonsatisfactionincludeenvironment,hygiene,workplacesafety,managementstyleandculture,employeeinvolvement,empowermentandautonomousworkofgroups,amongmanyothers.AccordingtoStevenMcShane,“Satisfiedemployeeshaveafavourableevaluationoftheirjobs,basedontheirobservationandemotionalexperience.”Satisfactionitselfisasubjectiveconceptrelatedtowork;forthatreason,itisnormaltoseesatisfiedandunsatisfiedprofessionalsworkinginthesamecompany,departmentorevenroom. Loyalty.Normally,loyalprofessionalsareemployeeswhorespondtodissatisfactionbypatientlywaiting.Theloyalassociatescansufferinsilencefordays,monthsorevenyearswithoutclearproblemresolution. Neglect.Neglectmeanslackingindiligence.Itincludesreducingworkeffort,payinglessattentiontoservicequality,increasesinabsenteeismandlateness.Thistypeofbehaviourhasnegativeconsequencesfortheorganization.   Ifcontinued,thenegativeimpactsrelatedtotheseworkbehavioursareenormous:declineinproductivity,whichdirectlyaffectsthefinancialperformanceofanorganization;lessinnovation,whichparalyzesthefutureofacompanyandputsitsownsurvivalatrisk;highturnover,employeessimplygothroughnumerousorganizations,neverstayinginonelongenoughtocontributeanythingofvalue;highabsenteeism,employeesfindvariouswaystopostponetheirjobs;andimpactsonfamilylife,employeesaccumulatestressthroughouttheworkdayandbringthistensionhome. Itisimportanttounderstandthatemployeescanuseone,twoormoreEVLNalternatives,itdependsonthepersonandsituation.Individualvalues,beliefs,cultureandpastexperiencearerelevantinordertodefinewhichtypeofbehavioursemployeesaremoresusceptibletoengage.
