Eligibility Applicantsmustbeaforeignnationalwithatleastasecondaryschoolgraduationdiploma,and anexcellentacademicrecord,andbeofgoodcharacter. Apersoninanyofthefollowingcategoriesisineligibletoapply: AnROCnationaloranoverseasChinesestudent. ApersonwhoalreadyhasandiscontinuingtomaintainstudentstatusatanyuniversityortertiarycollegeinTaiwanorapersonwhohasalreadyregisteredtobeginstudiesatauniversity/collegeinTaiwan.Thisrestrictiondoesnotapplytoastudentwhowillcompleteadegreeandgraduatethatyear.TheymayapplyforaTaiwanScholarshiptopursueahigherdegree. ApersonwhohasalreadystudiedinTaiwanforadegreeatthesamelevelastheoneinwhichtheyintendtoenroll. Anexchangestudentordual/jointdegreestudentwhohasbeenadmittedtoauniversity/collegeinTaiwaninaccordancewithanacademiccooperationagreementbetweentheuniversity/collegeinTaiwanandanoverseasuniversity/college. ApersonwhohasheldaTaiwanScholarshipforatotaloffiveyears. ApersonwhohaseverhadaTaiwanScholarshiporMOEHuayuEnrichmentScholarshiprevoked. ApersonwhohasreceivedanyotherscholarshiporsubsidyfromanyTaiwanGovernmentagencyoranyeducationinstitutioninTaiwan.ThisdoesnotincludeanysubsidyprovidedforTaiwanScholarshiprecipientsbyauniversity/collegetocovertheoutstandingamountoftheirtuitionandotherfeesifthetotalamountexceedsthemaximumamountpaidbythescholarship.
