ThehighertheAQHInumber,thegreaterthepotentialhealthriskandneedtotakeprecautions. Occasionallyduringextremepollutionevents,suchasawildfiresmokeevent,AQHIlevelsmayreach7–10,indicatingHighHealthRisk,or10+,indicatingVeryHighHealthRisk. PlanningOutdoorActivitieswiththeAQHI TheAQHIisdesignedtohelpyoumakedecisionstoprotectyourhealthandtheenvironmentby: Limitingshort-termexposuretoairpollution AdjustingyouroutdooractivityduringepisodesofincreasedairpollutionandencouragingphysicalactivityoutdoorsondayswhentheAQHIislower Reducingyourpersonalcontributiontoairpollution Eachindividualreactsdifferentlytoairpollution.TheAQHIprovidesspecificadviceforpeoplewhoare atrisk totheeffectsofairpollutionaswellasforthegeneralpublic.
