ImportantNoticeonSGXMSCITaiwanIndexFutures A.CessationofTradingofSGXMSCITaiwanIndexFuturesaftertheendofTsessionon30October2020 SGXMSCITaiwanIndexFuturescontracts(“MSCITW”)willbesuspendedfromtradingaftertheendoftheTsessionon30October2020,andwillbemadedormantthereafter. Foravoidanceofdoubt,thetradingsessions,timingsforNLT,andpost-tradeactivitiesforSGXFTSETaiwanIndexFuturescontracts(“FTSETWN”)willbebusinessasusual. B.FinalLiquiditySwitchtobecompletedby2November2020 TheFTSETWNhasseenstronggrowthmomentum,withmorethan1.1Mcontracts(US$49billion)tradedsincelaunch.Thishasprovidedthefoundationforstrongclientandmembersupportforanexchange-facilitatedservicetotransitionliquidityfromtheMSCITWintotheFTSETWN.Followingwhich,SGXhasannouncedthattheFinalLiquiditySwitchfromtheMSCITWtotheFTSETWNwillbecompletedbyclearingdate2November2020(Monday). SGXhasconductedtwoopt-inliquidityswitchesinAugustandSeptember,withanotheropt-inliquidityswitchfrom15-17Octoberpriortothefinalliquidityswitchtoensureprocessfamiliarityandsmoothoperation. Prioropt-inrunswerecompletedsuccessfully,with100%fulfillmentofallmigrationrequests.Theexchange-facilitatedliquidityswitchisthemostcost-efficientwaytomigratepositionswithwaiverofexchangefees,essentiallymid-pointmatch,nocrossingofbid-offerspreadandeliminationofleggingrisk. Majorityofmarketparticipantshavealsoindicatedpreferenceforadefinitecut-overdateaheadoftheUSPresidentialElection,whichenablesorderlydecision-makingbyparticipants. AllopenpositionsinMSCITWafterthecloseoftheTsessionon30October2020(Friday),andwhicharenotnettedoffinpost-trade,willbeclosedoutattheMSCITWFV.EachcontractmonthshallbeclosedoutatitscorrespondingFV. MarketparticipantswhodonotwishtoparticipateintheFinalLiquiditySwitchmaycloseoutanyopenpositionsinMSCITW,orperformtheswitchthemselvesviaopenmarkettrading,beforetheendoftheTsessionon30October2020inanorderlymanner.
