TheDirectorate-GeneralforPoliticalAffairsdevelopspolicyonpeaceandsecuritymatters,andadvisesthepoliticalleadersonforeign-policyissues.  TheDirectorate-GeneralforInternationalCooperationisresponsiblefordevelopmentcooperationpolicy,itscoordination,implementation,andfunding.  TheDirectorate-GeneralforForeignEconomicRelationsdevelopsDutchpolicyonopeninternationaleconomyandsustainableglobalizationandisresponsibleforeconomicdiplomacy. Dutchmissionsabroad Aroundtheworld,theMinistryhasmorethan150embassies,consulates-general,consulatesandpermanentmissionstointernationalorganisations,alsoknownas'missions'.Inaddition,ithassome360honoraryconsulates,withmorelimitedpowers.ThemissionspromotetheinterestsoftheKingdomoftheNetherlandsandofDutchpeopleabroad.Aswellasembassies,consulates-generalandconsulates,whicharebilateralmissions,theNetherlandshas16multilateralmissionsorpermanentrepresentationstointernationalorganisationsliketheEuropeanUnion,NATO,andtheUnitedNations.
