Anumberoffactorswereconsideredwhenmakingthisdecision.Informationpsychometricpropertiessuchasreliability,subtestfloor,gradient,andceiling,wereconsideredandthecorrelationbetweenWISC–IVandWAIS–IVcompositeshadanedgeoverComprehension.User-friendlinessfactors,suchasadministrationtimeandeaseofrecordingandscoring,clearlysupportedInformation.Theperformanceofdifferentdemographicgroupswasexaminedstatistically,andresultsindicatedsmallerdifferencesbetweenracial/ethnicgroupperformanceandsmallerdifferencesbasedonlevelofeducationonInformation,ratherthanComprehension.Atthesubtestlevel,ComprehensionwasmoresensitivethanInformationforanumberofclinicalgroups;however,selectingComprehensionasacoresubtestdidnotimprovetheclinicalsensitivityoftheVCIortheFSIQforthosegroups.Withrespecttoconstructcoverage,thespecificity(uniquecontributiontothebattery)ofInformationwashigherthanthatofComprehension,andtheg-loadingswerealmostidentical,andtherewasnoclearpatternofdifferentialcorrelationswithreasoningtaskswithInformationcomparedwithComprehension.Considerationwasadditionallygiventocustomerpreference,intheformofmarketresearchsurveysspecificallyaddressingthischoiceandthatcapturedcustomers'desirefordecreasedadministrationtime.
