Step1–DoYourReading Purchase andthoroughlyreadtheESDMtrainingmanualtitledTheEarlyStartDenverModelforYoungChildrenwithAutism:PromotingLanguage,Learning,andEngagement (Rogers,&Dawson,2009).Develop anunderstandingofthe CurriculumChecklist andfidelityratingsystemasdetailed inthemanual. Step2–IntroductoryWorkshop Registerfor,participatein,andcompletetheOnlineESDM IntroductoryWorkshop.Thisself-paced,independentstudyonlinecourseprovidesparticipantswithdetailedlearningabouttheEarlyStartDenverModel.InadditiontolearningmoreaboutESDM,successfulcompletionpreparesparticipantsfortheattendanceofanadvancedtrainingworkshop.TheESDMIntroductoryWorkshopisonlyavailable online. Step3–AdvancedTrainingWorkshop AttendanESDMAdvancedTrainingWorkshop.Theseworkshopsinvolveteamsofthreetofiveprofessionalsworkingcollaborativelywithayoungchildwithautism.Inpersonworkshopsoccuracrossthree fulldays.Remoteonlineworkshopsoccuracross6onlinesessions;thoseparticipatinginonlineofferingsarerequiredtohaveachildtoworkwithforthedurationoftheworkshop.ParticipantsreceivedirectpracticeandsupervisioninallaspectsofESDMtherapyfromutilizingthecurriculumchecklist,toengagingwithaparent,tousingESDMtherapywithachild,to writinggoalsandobjectives,totakingdata.Coaching andsupportareprovidedfromtheESDMcertifiedtrainer.Opportunitiesforpeer-to-peersupport,learning,andself-evaluationonfidelitymeasurement arebuiltintoESDMAdvancedTrainingWorkshop. Part2:ESDMTherapistCertification Oncethe ESDM IntroductoryWorkshop andthe ESDM AdvancedTrainingWorkshop have beencompleted,thefinalstepstobecomeanESDMcertifiedtherapistinvolvesworkingone-on-onewithanESDMcertifiedtrainerthroughsubmissionofyourwrittenandvideo-taped ESDMwork. Detailsofwhatisrequiredfor certificationwillbethoroughlyreviewedatyourESDMAdvancedTrainingWorkshop.Ideally,theprocessofsubmittingyourworktoyourtrainershouldcommencewithinseveralweeksofcompletingtheadvancedtrainingworkshop.Thecertificationprocessistypicallycompletedwithinoneyear. Step4–ApplyforCertification Applyforcertification withyouradvancedworkshoptrainer.Ifyouhaveattended trainingwithJHMJCoaching&Consulting,wewilldoourbesttoaccommodateallappropriaterequestsforcertification.Forcertificationmaterials submittedtomembersof JHMJCoaching&Consulting,submissioncontentmustbeinEnglishorprofessionally translatedintoEnglish.
