Gameplay[edit] Rules[edit] Agroupofcontestantsoneachepisodeplayapreliminaryroundcalled"FastestFingerFirst".Allaregivenaquestionbythehostandfouranswerswhichmustbeplacedwithinaparticularorder;inthefirstseasonoftheoriginalversion(1998)andthefirstfourseasonsoftheAustralianversion(1999–2002),contestantshavetoansweramultiple-choicequestion.Ifanycontestantsarevisuallyimpaired,thehostreadsthequestionandfourchoicesallatonce,thenrepeatsthechoicesafterthemusicfortheroundbegins.Thecontestantwhoanswerscorrectlyinthefastesttimegoesontoplaythemaingame.Intheeventthatnoonegetsthequestionright,anotherquestionisgiven;iftwoormorecontestantsanswercorrectlybutwiththesametime,theyaregivenatie-breakertodeterminewhowillmoveon.Thisroundisonlyusedwhenanewcontestantisbeingchosentoplaythemainround,andcanbeplayedmorethanonceinanepisodeamongthoseremainingwithinthegroupseekingtoplaythemaingame.Incelebrityeditions,theroundisnotused;celebritiesautomaticallytakepartinthemaingame.
