The Life-CycleCosting(LCC)analysismethodisrecognizedtoreliably identifycostoptimalbuildingdesignsolutionsyetitisnotwidely usedwithconfidence. TheNationalInstituteofStandardsand Technology(NIST)andANSIhavesuggestedstandardizedLCCnomenclature andconventionssothattheentirebuildingsindustrycanspeakone "language"whenperformingLCCanalysis. NIST'sLCC proceduresareembodiedintheBuildingLife-CycleCost(BLCC)Program; theNISTBLCCprogramandrelatedutilitiescanbedownloadedhere. AlthoughtheLCCproceduresusedinBLCChavelongbeenpublished(NISTHandbook1351995Edition) someusersexpressconcernthatBLCCdoesnotdisplaytheintermediate detailsofitscalculations.
