AllRecyclingStations,RecyclingStoresandRecyclingSpotsacceptatleasteightcommontypesofrecyclables,includingpaper,metalsplastics,glassbottles,regulatedelectricalequipment,smallelectricalappliances,fluorescentlampsandtubes,andrechargeablebatteries,etc.Therecyclablescollectedwouldbesortedandthendeliveredtothedownstreamrecyclersforsubsequentprocessing.  Tofacilitateandencouragethepublictousethecommunityrecyclingfacilities,theEPDintroducedtheGREEN$(GreenyCoins)smartcardon16November2020,forthepublictoearnGREEN$ andexchangegiftitems.Membersofthepublicbringingnotlessthan2kgofrecyclablestothenewcommunityrecyclingnetworkcanregistertogetaGREEN$smartcard.ByshowingtheGREEN$smartcardortheQRcodeimageprintedonthebackofthecardinsubsequentsubmissionofrecyclables,thepubliccanearnGREEN$ forredemptionofgiftitems.(GREEN$FAQ)The"GREEN$ElectronicParticipationIncentiveScheme"offersgiftsincludingmainlydailynecessitiesandgroceries,aswellasenvironmentallyfriendlyproducts,suchasbambootissues,towelsandrecyclingbags,forredemptiontoincreasetheenvironmentalawarenessofthepublic,andtograduallyintegratethepracticeofwastereductionandrecyclingintodailylife. GREEN‌@COMMUNITYhasbeenrebrandedtobecomeanewcommunityrecyclingnetwork.Itusestheword"green"astheconceptandthehomophonicnumber"6"inCantoneseasthelogo.Itsdesignisalsoconsistentwiththeprefix"G"of“GREEN”anditsformissimilartothecommonrecyclingsymbol,withmeaningofgoinggreeninendlesscycle. RecyclingStations Since2015,theEPDhasengagednon-profitmakingorganisationstooperateRecyclingStations(formerlyknownasCommunityGreenStation)throughopentenders.TheRecyclingStationsproactivelyconnectwithhousingestatesandpropertymanagementcompaniesintherespectivedistrictstoestablishaservicenetworkthroughdifferentrecyclingprogrammesandeducationalactivities.RecyclingSpots(mobileboothsforrecyclablecollection)arealsosetupatpublicplacesandcollectionvehiclesaredeployedtocollectrecyclablesinthedistricts.  AsofAugust2021,thereare11RecyclingStationsinoperationacrosstheterritory.TheRecyclingStationshavecollectedover13,500tonnesofrecyclables,conductedmorethan8,000environmentaleducationeventsintheformofexhibitions,presentations,workshopsorotheractivitiesandreceivedmorethan2,300,000visitors.
