SelecttoinsertaBillofMaterialsfromthecurrentlyactivedocument,oranotherdocument.IfthereareOnshapeBOMtablesinyourdocument,theyareautomaticallylistedinthedropdownmenu(shownwithMasterassemblyabove);selectone,thentheparameters:IfyouarepartofacompanyorenterpriseandyouradministratorhasaddedBOMtabletemplates,youcanselectonefromtheTemplatedropdown.TheBOM type:Flattened(noassemblyhierarchyindicated),Structured-Toplevel(assemblyhierarchyindicatedforonelevelonly),orStructured-Multi-level(alllevelsofassemblyhierarchyindicated).Order: ToptoBottomorBottomtoTopThethreetypesofBOMsareshownbelow: Flattened,Structured-Toplevel,andStructured-Multi-level,respectively:Inthemulti-levelBOM,immediatelyabove,thesub-assembly(AssemblyA)islistedasitemnumber1anditconsistsoftwoparts,listedasitemnumbers1.1and1.2(Parts2and3).Sub-assembly(AssemblyB)islistedasitemnumber2anditconsistsoftwoparts,listedasitemnumbers2.1and2.2(Parts1and3).Thetop-levelBOM,themiddleBOMabove,listsonlythetop-levelofthetwosub-assemblies.TheflattenedBOM,thefirstBOMabove,listsjustthepartscontainedintheAssembly.UsetheInserticontoselectaBOMfileortablefromanapprovedapp.FromhereyoucanusethestandardInsertdialogtoselectfromthecurrentdocument,anotherdocument,createaversiontoworkwithorselectanotherversionofadocument.YoucaninsertBOMsfromversions,workspaces,andreleasesthatdon'thaveaBOM,aswell.YoucanalsoselectfromAssembliesinthecurrentdocument,useBOMdatathatyouhaveuploadedintheformofafile,orselectaBOM fromanapprovedappyouareusing. SelectwhethertoinsertBillofMaterialsdatafrom:ThecurrentdocumentorOtherdocumentsAssemblies-Withinwhateverfilteryouhaveselected: Currentdocumentoranotherdocument.ThesettingoftheAssemblyproperty,SubassemblyBOM behavior,controlshowtheassemblyappearsinthedrawingbillofmaterial.BOMdata-Anuploadedfilecontainingdata,selectthefileorusetheImportoptionatthebottomofthedialogtouploadafile(notshownabove).BOMapp-DatacreatedfromaBOM appthroughtheOnshapeAppstore,selecttheBillofMaterial. Ifadocumentcontainsreleasedparts,theReleasefilterispresent;usethisfiltertodisplayonlydatathathasbeenreleased. Selectwhichcornerofthetabletosetasyourfixedcorneratthebottomofthetable(asshownbelow). ThedefaultanchorpointinOnshapeistheupperrightcorneroftables.Thereisnoneedtoclickdirectlyonthepointonceitisvisible.WhilemovingthemousetoplacetheBillofMaterials,you'llnoticethin,dashedlinesasthecursorpassesnearotherentities.TheseareinferencinglinesthatyouareabletoaligntheBOMto;simplyclickwhenyouseethelineappeartoaligntheBOM tothatline. ClickinthedrawingspacetoplacetheBillofMaterialtable. EditingaBOM table AninsertedBillofMaterialsisabletobeeditedmuchlikeanytableindrawings.Clicktheedgeofthetabletoselecttheentiretable;youmaygraboneofthemiddlegrabpointstomovethetable.Right-clickwiththeentiretableselectedtoaccessthesecommands: BOM tableproperties-ToopenthepropertiespanelforBillsofMaterials SplitBOM tablebelow-TosplittheBOMtablebelowtherowthecursorwasinwhenyouright-clickedforthecontextmenu.Thissplitsthetableintotwotables.Youcanthenselectoneofthetables,right-clickforthecontextmenuanduseMovetosheettomovethattabletoanothersheetinthedrawing. Copy-Toplaceacopyofthetableontheclipboard Moveto-(Borderframe,Borderzones,Titleblock,Drawing) Bringtofront-Bringtheselectedtabletotheforefrontofthedisplay Sendtoback-Sendtheselectedtabletothebackgroundofthedisplay Switchto-ToopenthetabcontainingtheBillofMaterialsdata Movetosheet-Tomoveatable(orasplittable)toanother,existing,sheetofthedrawing.YoucanopentheSheetsflyouttoviewthelocationoftheBOM tableandalsodrag/dropittoanothersheetifyouwish:Right-clickontheBOMinthelisttoaccessthecontextmenu,includingProperties,SwitchtoBOM (openstheAssemblytabinwhichtheBOM originated),andDelete: Clearselection-Unselectthecurrentlyselectedtable Zoomtofit-Zoomthedrawingtofitinthewindow Delete-Deletethecurrentlyselectedtable Oncethetableisinsertedyouareableto: UseShift-clicktoselectmorethanonecell. Toselectarow,clickthefirstcellandShift-clickthelastcellintherow. Toselectacolumn,clickthefirstcellandShift-clickthelastcellinthecolumn. Clickanddragacornertoresizethetable. Formattingthetable Youareabletoright-clickinthetableandselectSizeandchoosefromresizingColumnsequallyandresizingRowequally.Clickanddragahorizontalorverticalmidpointtoresizethetable. Toresizetherowsandcolumnsonbothsidesofthecelledge,withoutresizingthetable,hoveryourcursoroverthetoporrightcelledge,andwhenthecursorchangestoadouble-sidedarrow,clickanddragthelineanddropitinthenewlocation.Toresizeonlytheroworcolumnoftheselectedcell,andhavetherestofthetableresize,hoveryourcursoroverthebottomorleftcelledge,andwhenthecursorchangestoadouble-sidedarrow,clickanddragthelineanddropitinthenewlocation. Resizingbothcolumnsoneithersideofthedividingedge,withoutresizingthetable(lefttwoimages),andresizingonlytheselectedcell'scolumnandhavingtherestofthetableresizeaccordingly(righttwoimages). Toresizethecolumnwidthorrowheightnumerically,selectacell,right-clickandselectResizetoopentheResizedialog.EnterthenewColumnwidthandRowheightmeasurements. Youcanclickonthemid-pointsofatabletoautomaticallysizetofitthecontentsofthetable. Single-clickinatablecellorrowtoactivatetheBOMtabletoolbox: Cellformattingpanel Double-clickinatablecelltoopenthecellformattingpanel: Sizecolumnsequally-Resizeallselectedcolumnstotheaveragewidth Sizerowsequally-Resizeallselectedrowstotheaverageheight Youcanaccessthesecommandsfromthecontextmenuwhenatleastonecellisselected: Override-Selectthischeckboxtooverridethecontentoftheselectedcell,andenteranewvalueinthecellformattingpanel.PressEntertoaccepttheedit,andthenpresstoclosethedialog.Whenthecontentofacellisoverridden,ablacktriangleindicatorisdisplayedatthebottomleftcornerofthecell,andatooltipindicatesthecellisoverriddenwhenhoveringyourmouseoverthecell. Ifthecontentofacellcannotbeoverridden,theOverridecheckboxandlabelaregrayedout. Ifmultiplecellsareselected,thecontentofthecellsandtheOverridecheckboxarenotdisplayed. AllothertextformattingcommandsarethesameasthosefoundintheNotepanel. DeletingaBOMtable Right-clicktheedgeofthetableandselectDelete.YoucanalsodeleteaBOM tablefromtheSheetflyout:right-clicktheBOMintheSheetsflyout,andselectDelete. ReplacingaBOMtable OnceaBOM tableisplacedinadrawing,youcanreplaceitwithanotherBOM tableifyouwish: OpentheSheetsflyoutandlocatethelistingfortheBOM tableyouwishtoreplace: Right-clickonthelistingandselectReplace. IntheInsertdialogthatappears,selecttheAssemblywhoseBOM youwishtoinsert: TheBOM isreplacedwiththeBOM oftheselectedAssembly. TheviewsassociatedwiththeBOMarealsoreplacedtoreferencetheselectedAssembly. BOM properties Selectthetable,thenright-clickandselectBOMtablepropertiestoopenthePropertiesdialogforthattable: ClicktheReferencelinktoopenthetabcontainingtheoriginalBOM data.
