Stronadomowa / Archiwum / Tom8Nr3(2020) / Artykuły VietnameseversionoftheDualFilialPietyScale:preliminaryvalidationinastudentsample Autor TruongThiKhanhHa VietnamNationalUniversity JoannaRóżycka-Tran UniwersytetGdański PawełJurek UniwersytetGdański TranHaThu VietnamNationalUniversity LeVanHao VietnamAcademyofSocialSciences DOI: https://doi.org/10.5114/hpr.2020.95409 Słowakluczowe: dualfilialpietymodel, DFPS-V, Vietnamesescalevalidation Abstrakt BackgroundFilialpietyisaconceptcontainingimportantideasabouthowchildrenshouldtreattheirparents.Itsdemandsrangefrommaterialtoemotionalrequirements,anditsstructuresareoftengeneralizedtoapplytoauthorityrelationshipsbeyondthefamily.The16-itemDualFilialPietyScale(DFPS)developedbyYehandBedfordhasbeenusedindifferentculturalgroupstomeasureindividuals’filialpietyattitude.ThepresentinvestigationtranslatedtheDFPSintotheVietnameselanguage(DFPS-V)andexaminedpsychometricqualitiesofthescaleinasampleofstudentsinVietnamintwostudies.ParticipantsandprocedureInStudy1wefocusedonexploratoryfactoranalysisandreliabilityanalysis,usingasampleofVietnamesestudents(N=573).Study2(N=300)wasdesignedtoconfirmthefactorstructureofthescaleandprovideevi-denceofvalidityinvolvingcorrelatesoftheresultingsurvey’sscores.ResultsTheresultsconfirmedatwo-dimensionalstructureofthescaleandindicatedsatisfactoryinternalconsistency.Additionally,validityofthescalewassupported,asitwasshowntobeassociatedwithpositiveandnegativereciprocitynorms.ConclusionsInconclusion,theVietnameseversionoftheDFPShasbeenshowntobeavalidandreliablescalethatcanbeusedtomeasurereciprocalandauthoritarianfilialpietyinfuturestudies.
